After the war, Murrow returned to CBS News and became the anchor of the television news program See It Now.
See It Now was a groundbreaking program that used television to tell stories that were often ignored by the mainstream media. Murrow and his team of reporters investigated a wide range of topics, including McCarthyism, the civil rights movement, and the Vietnam War. See It Now was often controversial, but it was also highly influential. It helped to raise awareness of important issues and to hold those in power accountable.
Murrow left CBS News in 1961 to become the director of the United States Information Agency. He served in this position for four years, and then he returned to CBS News as a commentator. Murrow continued to work until his death in 1965.
