At 80 years old, I decided to embark on an epic journey from Cape Town to Cairo, driving my trusty 4x4 through some of the most diverse and challenging terrain on the planet. My goal was to explore the rich cultures, stunning landscapes, and fascinating history of Africa, and to share my experiences with the world.

Over the course of six months, I traveled more than 15,000 kilometers, through deserts, mountains, rainforests, and cities. I met people from all walks of life, from nomadic herders to urban professionals. I learned about the history of colonialism, apartheid, and independence. And I witnessed the beauty and resilience of the African spirit.

My journey was not without its challenges. I had to deal with flat tires, broken down vehicles, and the occasional bout of illness. But I also had the opportunity to experience some of the most amazing moments of my life. I saw lions hunting in the Serengeti, elephants crossing the Zambezi River, and gorillas playing in the rainforests of Uganda.

I learned a great deal about myself on this journey. I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was. I learned that I am capable of anything I set my mind to. And I learned that the world is a much more beautiful and diverse place than I ever could have imagined.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have undertaken this journey. It has changed my life in countless ways. I encourage everyone to step outside of their comfort zones and to experience the world for themselves. You never know what you might discover.
