After graduating from Lincoln University, Marshall attended Howard University Law School. He was a top student and graduated first in his class.

After graduating from law school, Marshall worked as a lawyer for the NAACP. He quickly became one of the most prominent civil rights lawyers in the country. He argued several landmark cases before the Supreme Court, and he helped to win major victories for civil rights.

Here are some of Marshall's most important accomplishments:

* He argued and won the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education, which struck down the doctrine of "separate but equal" and paved the way for the desegregation of public schools. * He helped to draft the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. * He served as the first African American Supreme Court Justice for 24 years, and he wrote some of the most important decisions in the Court's history.
